Job Description

Job description:

The work will be primarily conducted onsite at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division in West Bethesda Maryland.

While there is a broad community interest and push toward commodity AI/ML development and deployment, in many cases these downstream components are serviced and dependent on high quality signal and information processing to be effective.
This position seeks candidates interested in that front end processing that makes remote sensing possible for national security systems.

The position responsibilities include data analysis, signal and clutter phenomenology identification/capture/modeling, array calibration, and advanced algorithm development, implementation, and testing.
Projects will involve a variety of advanced sensing and Command and Control systems, ranging from undersea sensors to airborne and space systems employing sensory modalities spanning the acoustic and radio frequency regimes.

Required Qualifications

Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field

At least 2 years of relevant industry experience

Active DOD Secret Security Clearance

Ability to research and implement advanced processing methods

Demonstrated knowledge skills and abilities in one or more of the areas of Sonar, Radar, SIGINT, or related sensing domain

Demonstrated knowledge skills and abilities in one or more of the subjects of Statistical Adaptive Array and Multichannel Processing, Stochastic Processes and Applications, Classical Inference/Detection and Estimation Theory, Fusion, Tracking, Classification, or related field

Candidates must be comfortable in small work groups, doing extended development with minimal oversight and direction

Candidate must have a demonstrable proficiency in prototyping simple and complex concepts in MATLAB.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in mathematical/physical modeling, simulation, and performance analysis

Experience analyzing data on very large and diverse scales

Programming experience in Java or C/C++
