Vice President of Engineering and Quality

Reports To: President

Summary of Position:

The Director of Engineering and Quality will lead a team of mechanical, electrical, and aerospace
engineers on all projects involving mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions. This will include
supporting the design process from kickoff to certification though the gated development process, and
support of production activities as needed. This role is also responsible for leading the Quality Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Appropriately staffing of the engineering and quality groups based on the agreed business plan and

Setting and maintaining the standards of work for the work of the engineering and quality groups

Financial planning and accounting of engineering and quality groups development and sustaining

Technology Roadmap projects (Plan)

Technical execution of development projects based on approved budgets and Design to Cost targets
Develop and maintain the Technology Roadmap to meet the objectives of the Sales group
Ensure that the Operations, Sales and Finance group are fully supported
Plan and own the tools necessary to manage and maintain the technical data

Plan and own the tools necessary to support the activities of the Engineering and Quality groups
Manage customer delegation process as required
Provide support for business development activities.

? Minimum: 10 years of experience relevant to the requirements of this Job Description.
? Experience in the design of dynamic mechanical and electro-mechanical components and mechanisms.
? Experience in the creation, publication and revision of engineering drawings in accordance with ANSY
? Experience in the troubleshooting of mechanisms in the context of the development cycle
? Experience in the certification of mechanical and electro-mechanical components for civil or military
? Experience in creating tolerance analysis for large assemblies and ensure compliance with aircraft
? Experience in stress analysis (including materials science), FEA and motion simulation
? Experience with SolidWorks toolset or equivalent
? Leadership experience with managing large groups of engineers, in the gated development process
? Advanced experience with manufacturing processes and tools used in the industry

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Aeronautical/AerospaceEngineering from a four-year college or university.

Preferred: Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or related field of study.
