Herdsman (KH-10096)

Job description:

A large dairy located in New Mexico is searching for a Herdsman for their operation. This position is responsible for preg checking, calf and heifer health care (dehorning, tagging, etc.), milking, and checking on problem and fresh cows. Must have herd health skills and be able to spot, diagnose, and treat sick cows and give IV's, shots and administer medications. Other responsibilities include feed mixing and feeding, bedding and cleaning pens and moving calves. Basic computer and record keeping experience required. Dairy uses Dairy Comp 305.

- Strong Dairy experience
- Large herd experience
- Herd Health experience
- Feed / Nutrition knowledge
- Hospital barn experience
- Basic Computer skills
- Strong record keeping skills
- Dairy Spanish a plus
