Herdsman (KH-10084)

Job description:

A mid-size dairy located in Washington is searching for a hands-on Herdsman with 2 plus years experience. The candidate must have a strong herd health background and the ability to spot, diagnose, and treat sick cows. This position will be responsible for hospital barn, transition cows, and cattle movement. Will also supervise the milking crew. AI breeding experience is a plus, but will consider someone who is willing to learn. Must have basic computer knowledge and record keeping skills. Will be responsible for entering herd data into Dairy Comp 305. This position will report to the Herd Manager. Dairy Spanish is a plus. There are no feeding responsibilities with this position.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years experience as a herdsman
- Supervisor experience
- Strong Herd Health skills
- AI Breeding experience or willing to learn
- Calf / calving experience
- Hospital and Transition cow experience
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Experience with data entry / record keeping
- Dairy Spanish a plus
