About the role

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the growth strategy across the whole vegetable market. Working closely with production, farming and logistics. Driving sales and developing superior customer relationships.

Duties

  • Manage the designated vegetable category, regarding sales, margin / profit, and stock turns
  • Sales planning - working towards strategic, promotion and seasonal horizons
  • Coordinate with internal & external customers to understand trends and availability, ensuring best product is positioned for the customer
  • Develop long-term partnering relationships ensuring an intimate understanding of your customers requirements
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts
  • Present reports and forecasts to management

Skills & experience

  • Category Management within a perishable commodity
  • Exposure to major retail account management
  • Experience managing margin and grower return.
  • An understanding of seasonality, perishability, promotional plans
  • Well-developed written & verbal communication skills, the ability to present at all levels
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Current valid drivers licence
