Job Summary of the Software Controls Engineer

Our client, a thriving developer of custom automation control systems, is looking for a Software Controls Engineer to join their growing team.

In this position, you will develop software controls for their custom automation solutions. Initial work will be in PC controls programming, using C#. Long-term, it will be a mix of this and PLC programming. This includes developing applications for state machines running sequences, along with device communication (Bus Coupler, measurement meters, power supplies, etc.).

This is primarily a work-from-home, or remote, position, though you need to be in the area to be on-site when needed. You will also take day trips around the area, and have occasional overnight travel to other locations.

Qualifications:

• BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS, with controls focus
• 3+ years of experience developing controls software for automation systems
• Solid background in the development of C# applications for controls
• Good PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or other brands)
• Experience, or willingness to learn, LabView
• Experience, or willingness to learn, other program languages, such as VisualBasic
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact directly with customers when needed
