Quality Manager

East Indianapolis

A multi-billion dollar, global, specialty Tier 1 automotive manufacturer has an immediate job opening for a Quality Manager in the Eastern Indianapolis area. Brand-new facility as of 2019; 275K sq ft ($95M Investment).Here are a few key things to note:

  • 100+ year old company, $300M revenue ($80M Site, automated facility, robotics, modern/clean)
  • Seeking a change-agent & strong people leader to upgrade the Quality function
  • Business is shifting from low-cost commodity products to higher-value products with a focus on operational efficiencies (reducing scrap, increasing customer quality, implementing lean)

Select Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality across the organization, managing a team of quality professionals and overall operational efficiencies across the business.
  • Provide vision, direction, and leadership for the formulation and implementation of customer quality and site process improvements.
  • Focus on customer quality and internal scrap reduction.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities; cost reduction programs, productivity improvements, and the implementation of initiatives to align with business goals.
  • Develop a site budget that is in line with the overall goals of the business.
  • Develop short and long-range vision
  • Accurately report the quality performance metrics.
  • Maintain IATF16949 certification.
  • Ability to review First Time Through (FTT) and scrap information and introduce permanent resolutions.
  • Problem resolution using problem-solving skills including 8D, Shainin and Six Sigma.
  • Ability to prepare new part certification submission to customer (PPAP).
  • Prepare and update all quality documentation including control plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Work Instructions, Quality Reports, Alerts, Rework Procedures, etc.
  • Develop Statistical Process Control (SPC) and react to the results
Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree desired
  • 4+ years of Quality experience, with at least 2 years of Management experience
  • Ability to drive cultural change and operational improvements
  • Experience with Lean, Continuous and/or strong Six Sigma problem-solving techniques.
  • Automotive experience desired (manufacturing experience required)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, make sound decisions and work effectively in a technical environment
