Job Summary
Manage hands on overall activities and plans of the Production departments (Stamping and Die Maintenance, Welding, and Production control to ensure safety, quality of workmanship, professionalism of associates and support of company and corporate goals.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Oversee the consistent application of company rules, policies, procedures, training, and financial procedures for production associates
Track the completion of activity plans, analyze the results against goals for further improvement
Control daily SQCD and report daily gaps and catch up
Develop and implement Improvement Plans & Programs to reduce cost, scrap and downtime
Support reporting requirements for such programs as TPM, and ISO and future IATF as they pertain to the production departments
Compile, review, implement, and track the production budgetary and business plans
Perform job performance evaluations and provide appropriate support and advise as necessary for improvement
Spearhead efforts to increase productivity as recorded through OEE, SPH, down time and other productivity measurements
Provide overall direction, necessary resources and support for production activity
Ensure the accomplishment of stated budgets, business plans and management goals & objectives in the production division
Ability to work overtime and/or weekends
Maintain attendance per company policy
Ability to work in a team environment
Additional Job Responsibilities
Perform associate counseling at final warning level and terminations as
needed
Create and maintain a positive relationship with both internal and external
customers, and suppliers relevant to business to improve products,
cost and/or services
Travel as needed for company business
Utilize all avenues of communication across all levels of production,
meetings, bulletin boards, start-up meetingsto keep associates informed
Participate in the hiring process for relevant positions as needed
Perform other tasks timely according to the requests of company officers
Qualifications:
Job Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to do the essential functions of the Sr. Manager of Production position.
Education/Knowledge
Must have experience in stamping or automated weld cells, preferably in the automotive industry (not required)
Previous work experience, at least five (5) years, in related production areas with related responsibilities and Bachelor's Degree. Must have previous managerial and supervisory experience. Without a degree, 10+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing, managing people and departmental budgets.
Communication
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
