Job description:

• Achieve manufacturing objectives by optimizing available resources
• Apply business processes and establish an effective communication system with employees
• Participate in the implementation of processes, practices and tools specific to the unit, working towards optimizing operational efficiency, operating costs, production capacity and quality
• Support building a mobilized and competent team and support their production efforts
• Nurture a culture of Continuous Improvement and Health & Safety
• Ensure safety of employees and a safe environment free of risks
• Engage and develop employees
• Actively participate in the creation and implementation of optimization projects

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma minimum
• Post-secondary technical education preferred
• Union environment experience
• 10 years+ of production environment experience including prior management experience in the manufacturing sector
• Safety minded and ability to promote an engaged safety culture
• Leadership and team-building skills
• Ability to function in a busy / stressful work environment
• MUST have scheduling experience
• Able to maintain effective and productive workplace relationships
• Self-starter who is proactive and takes initiative in proposing solutions
• Able to react to change and propose favorable adaption conditions
• Problem solving skills
