Industrial EngineerOur client is a Tier 1 injection molding supplier in Greenville County,
SC.
With several new projects starting, the Industrial Engineer will be
responsible to ensure that new equipment and processes are safely
integrated into the production flow.
This position will report to the Engineering Manager.
Summary:
Industrialization of new projects in the plant as main interface to the
customer teams and internal departments as well as enlargement and
optimization of existing projects / existing manufacturing processes.
Tasks:
1. Design of ideal manufacturing processes in cooperation with internal
departments taking into account time, economics and quality relevant
aspects
1.1. Support customer teams in preparing calculations according to
internal company guidelines
1.2. Check available resources and participating in the specification of
new machines and resources
1.3. Plan manufacturing layout including upstream and downstream
operations (e. g. material flows) in cooperation with internal
departments
1.4. Participating in offer preparation
2. Industrialization of new projects to match customer requirements
2.1. Participate in installation, start-up and acceptance of plant
technology
2.2. Plan, control and manage tool samplings and measuring capacities
2.3. Realize SAT (Site Acceptance Test) for injection molding machines,
fixtures and automation technology with the internal departments
2.4. Transfer new projects into a stable manufacturing process
3. Plan plant investments including preparation of the associated ROI
calculation
3.1. Plan, control and check project budgets for internal projects
3.2. Prepare specification sheets including technical specifications of
manufacturing equipment and associated plant technology plans and
layouts in close cooperation with the respective internal department and
the customer team (if necessary)
3.3. Select appropriate manufacturing equipment, request offers and
participate in negotiations in close cooperation with the respective
internal department and the customer team (if necessary)
3.4. Prepare and monitor project schedules and project hours and realize
status meetings on internal projects
4. Analysis and optimization of existing projects / existing
manufacturing processes using lean methods and tools
4.1. Initiate c/i projects and implement improvement and solutions
4.2. Support in the preparation and realization of internal and external
lean projects (value stream mapping)
4.3. Coordinate and realize relocation projects within the Group

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor degree preferred, or 3+year apprenticeship, preferably in
technical area
2. Thorough understanding of automotive manufacturing processes
3. CAD Design experience
4. Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and
technology, applying principles, techniques, procedures and
equipment design
5. Knowledge of raw materials and production processes.
