The Opportunity:

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their corporate team in Windsor. The Human Resources Manager supports the HR Manager, Canadian Operations, and is responsible for managing, coordinating, and assisting in the activities of the Corporate Human Resources department. This role will serve as a trusted advisor for the business & corporate employee base will provide functional support and help lead corporate-wide HR initiatives and specific HR projects in North America.
What Youll Be Responsible For:

  • Building strong relationships with the business partners in the organization
  • Analyzing trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
  • Developing and implementing short & long-term strategies, plans, policies and programs as it relates to all human resources initiatives
  • Acting as an advisor to leaders by providing guidance and/or coaching on sensitive confidential and complex HR issues, and serving as a subject matter expert for employment laws and regulations
  • Developing strategies for developing talent, recruitment, succession planning and onboarding
  • Work on various initiatives to drive leadership and cultural alignment across all corporate functions within North America
  • Maintaining an awareness of emerging trends and best practices in HR and liaison with HR peers, both within and outside of the organization to ensure policies and procedures stay current and market competitive
  • Assist payroll team to help administer payroll to Canadian Corporate employees
  • Lead various projects including job analysis, succession planning, and retention planning
  • Work closely with the senior HR team to determine how global strategy impacts the corporate leadership team and plot the course to enhance the business success through new and innovative HR programs
  • Lead the Recruitment Process corporate-wide to effectively attract and select employees
  • During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and projects as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business Administration, or related area of study
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience (or equivalent) with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, and projects
  • Experience working in a union or union-free fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing and implementing best-in-class policies & practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to create and maintain strong relationships across different business units
  • Shows initiative, is detailed oriented and has a proven record of implementing process improvements for HR teams

Complimentary Experience:

  • Previous experience in automotive and an understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (including ISO 9001) standards would be considered an asset
  • CHRP/CHRL designation would be considered an asset
