The Opportunity:

Our client is a leading manufacturing company, is looking for a Director of Operations to join their growing team. The Director of Operations will report directly to the CEO and is responsible for all plant operations across multiple facilities. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a culture and environment of continuous improvement and growth.

What Youll Be Responsible For:

  • Developing and maintaining a culture and environment of continuous change and improvement through lean strategies such as TPS, 6 Sigma, A3, and/or Kaizen
  • Directing the use of facilities, equipment, and personnel to meet current and future manufacturing requirements
  • Working in partnership with finance to maintain and develop department budgets and guidelines, p/l performance, and capital expenditure programs
  • Ensuring products are manufactured on time and according to customer quality requirements to ensure customer expectations are met and delivery schedule is maintained
  • Planning and managing delivery requirements, inventory levels, labor productivity and asset utilization
  • Managing the facility and employee engagement initiatives through appropriate communication of goals, performance feedback, and recognition
  • Developing both short and long-term business strategies to align to corporate goals, KPIs and objectives
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Business or equivalent
  • 8-10 years of experience within the operations area of a large manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a direct people leadership capacity
  • A strong and energetic leader able to provide direction and motivation to team members
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Experience in use of Lean and structured problem strategies such as Toyota Production System methodologies, 6-sigma, A3, and Kaizen
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949/ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to facilities in the United States and Mexico

Complimentary Experience:

  • Experience in the automotive industry would be considered an asset
  • A background or experience in automation would be considered an asset
