Applications Engineer Remote July 2023

Our client is a leader in the Adhesives field developing innovative
products with cutting edge technologies that help to shape the future.

The Applications Engineer will play an essential role providing
technical field support for developing groundbreaking, next-generation
products in the Automotive OEM and Electric Vehicle (EV) markets.

The Applications Engineer will apply your entrepreneurial spirit,
technical knowledge of materials and adhesives, transportation and/or EV
experience, and customer relationship skills, whether it be through
developing portfolio recommendations, troubleshooting issues, design
mapping, or project managing. This is an exciting opportunity to

emerging market.

Responsibilities:

- Simplify technical or complex topics for others with varying levels
of understanding.

- Proactively identify problems and develop solutions for present and
future goals.

- Provide field support to customers and the ability to long-range
plan with customers to determine future goals and translate a vision
into end-products and outcomes.

- Project manage and navigate complexities based on business needs.

- Build key technical relationships at target EV accounts and
prospects by demonstrating technical credibility of applications,
product and market understanding.

- Recommend solutions and perform other technical visits (training,
meetings, audits, demonstrations, project/testing result reviews,
troubleshooting, etc.) for customers.

- Manage customer adhesive needs and tailor experiments for testing to
support development.

- Consult with customer to review results and ensure project goals are
met.

- Identify and eliminate hurdles to successful project completion.

- Lead or direct special application projects and supervise team
members assigned.

- Lead development and execution of technical strategy to provide
insight into the account strategy and opportunity pipeline.

- Provide technical leadership by proactively leveraging industry
groups, universities, trade shows, competitors,and customer
knowledge to uncover and influence future needs and challenges.

- Promote, support and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality
policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • BS degree Materials, Plastics or Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years relevant experience in transportation and/or electric vehicle markets.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and mechanical testing skills, familiar with liquid adhesive technology such as Acrylics, Urethanes, Epoxy chemistry and materials.
  • Fluent with Microsoft, SalesForce (or other CRM system), Word, Excel, and JD Edwards.
  • Should be outgoing, and self-aware, know when to dial it up and when to listen
  • Embrace unpredictability and ability to thrive in changing situations. .
  • Travel 30% to 50% and hold a valid passport
