Accounting Manager/Controller (hybrid) lending/consumer finance firm.

King of Prussia, PA.

Requires: Minimum 7 years relevant accounting experience in consumer finance/lending industry with supervisory/team lead responsibilities; advanced Excel skills. MS Access or SQL a plus.

Our client is a specialty lending/loan servicing firm that is a
well-established leader in its field, a highly regulated industry.

Primary Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

Monitor, coordinate and direct the quality and accuracy of work
performed by accounting staff (client and/or internal), recommending and
implementing actions as appropriate.

Oversee the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and
accurate accounting and reporting for multiple business units.

Develop, implement and monitor internal control policies, guidelines
and accounting procedures.

Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and provide guidance on
clients organizational policies and procedures.

Direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports,
financial position forecasts and reports required by banks and
regulatory agencies.

Analyze and interpret financial information for partner schools;
monitor and make recommendations as appropriate.

Coordinate organizational budgeting process.

Perform ad-hoc analyses and projects as dictated by business needs

Manage treasury and cash management including borrowing base and cash
flow reporting.

Coordinate audit process and completion of deliverables, including
annual tax returns and financial information.

Monitor and direct efficiencies and areas of improvement in scope and
process.

Specific Tasks assigned to the Accounting Manager:

Weekly loan funding

Loan Portfolio Purchase Transaction execution

Oversee loan account maintenance transactions

Preparing certain Client Deliverables (monthly servicing and other
client-specific reports)

Quarterly Loan Loss Reserve calc prep/analysis

Monthly Closing JE calculations and import

Review of all monthly reconciliations

Manage and oversee cash flow.

Main contact for financial statement audit engagements

Review and approval of invoices

Oversee collection efforts on delinquent A/R

Review operating expenses monthly

Prepare Borrowing Base calculation

Prepare monthly covenant calculations

Update financial forecast each quarter-end

Send financials with explanations to bank and investors monthly

Qualifications:

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager/Controller:

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
required

Minimum of 7 years of relevant finance experience (accounting, audit,
etc.) with at least 3 years in a supervisory/lead role

Experience in lending, consumer finance industry is a plus

Proficient in MS Excel

MS Access or SQL knowledge preferred

Knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) accounting standards.

Understanding of loan-specific accounting treatment and standards
(loan loss reserves, deferred revenue and expenses)

Knowledge of government (state and federal) policies and directives
impacting the consumer finance industry

Maintains a thorough working knowledge of SAAS-based accounting
software packages.

Strong project ownership and management skills, taking initiative from
inception to completion and working with cross-functional leaders.

Demonstrated strong team leadership skills; able to manage, influence,
inspire, and develop teams with varied skill sets

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to
present financial information in both verbal and written formats to all
levels of management and external stakeholders

Highly organized, superior work ethic, unquestioned integrity, a no
job too small mentality and a can do attitude

Well-developed interpersonal skills and sound judgment.

Demonstrated ability to engage with high-value clients, providing
information and explanations as needed

Ability to work on-site 3 days/week (hybrid)
