You will be responsible for providing the leadership, vision and direction for an enterprise-wide fraud program aimed at effectively preventing, detecting, investigating and mitigating fraud within all business lines. The Fraud Manager will work to define our fraud strategies with particular emphasis on proactive solutions to address and prevent future fraud.

As a key member of the fraud risk management team, you will be responsible for managing and crafting fraud risk strategies along with developing and tracking appropriate metrics. You will develop and implement the fraud strategy for all Credit and Lending products.

  • Work with a wide variety of partners in the company, such as product experts, platform engineers and back-end operation to mitigate and manage financial loss caused by fraud risk such as ACH returns, account take-over, credit muling identity theft, synthetic identity and first party fraud.
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques, algorithms, and industry tools to develop solutions that predict and prevent fraud risk.
  • Build fraud risk related variables based on fraudulent trends and insights
  • Direct your team to develop comprehensive fraud dashboards to visualize and communicate insights clearly across functions and levels of the organization
  • Be a supervisor and also a mentor to the team and providing thought leadership in both using data to tackle business problems and in arriving at innovative statistical solutions
  • Develop fraud strategies to keep our fraud loss low and keep our conversion rate high for all credit products
  • Design A/B tests to help understand risk return tradeoffs using hypothesis testing frameworks
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in an analytically focused role, and preferably 5+ years of fraud management with experience leading a team
  • Bachelor/Masters degree with quantitative background (e.g. Statistics, Math, Engineering, Economics)
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in an analytical discipline
  • Data analytics and experience in using statistical or ML models for predictive analysis, classification, and segmentation
  • Preferred: Extensive work in risk management across lending, credit card or deposit products at a significant financial institution, eCommerce merchant, or payment platform.
  • Have a history of success in executing projects, the ability to direct a team and do hands-on work.
  • Proficient in SQL, SAS, Experience with Python, or other scripting languages
  • Strong technical skills such as SQL/SAS, Python/R
  • Experience with BI/data visualization tools (like Tableau or Excel to create dashboards)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
