Chief Financial Officer

Our client is a privately-held and entrepreneurial specialized service provider with locations throughout New England. The Company is recognized for its outstanding service, the quality of its offerings and customer responsiveness.

The Chief Financial Officer will become a key contributor to the executive management team. This person will provide financial and operational input to a growing and successful business; thrive in a hands on business environment; provide direction to the accounting team; and will be a trusted business advisor to the President/CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
The scope of the role will include all aspects of financial accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures to aid in the growth of the Company. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervisor/mentor a developing staff is required.

Specific Responsibilities:

Own the financial closing calendar, scheduling and assuring timely, complete, and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
Conduct monthly reviews with active ownership.

Manage all accounting operations (staff of four including the Controller), Billing, A/R, A/P, and GL, Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounting, and industry specific Revenue Recognition.
Responsible for all cash management, treasury, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the companys financial strategy and hiring needs.

Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization.
Working with ownership, develop reporting enhancements on existing accounting software/systems to better analyze business line results including profitability and trends.
Insure accuracy of contract terms (payment terms, lease expirations) and adjustments/renewals are properly reflected in operating results.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and S Corporation tax filings.
Direct the annual year-end audit with external auditors.



BS in Accounting; a CPA; CMA and/or an MBA is a plus

Experience in a sub $100 million business is required; experience in a privately held business is preferred and experience in a family-held business would be a plus.
Experience with subchapter S corporations a plus.

Demonstrated experience assisting President/ CEO to better formulate and make key business decisions; especially as it relates to cashflow management (revenue, capital spending, personnel).
Thorough knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures is a must.
Experience with general ledger functions and improving the closing process.
Strong MS Excel Skills is required; Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus (or similar ERP software).
