Summary:
The HSE Safety Officer is responsible for implementation of real application of policies
and safety instructions in daily work within plant areas. The SO ensures the fulfillment of
all safety instructions to promote safe working practices. This position reports to the HSE
local manager and works closely with all functions of the plant to drive safety initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Support the development of HSE policies and programs within plant areas
Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery)
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Assist with the development of new methods and procedures to reduce non-conformity
Review existing policies and measures and update as needed
Perform premises and personnel inspections to identify issues or non-conformities
Oversee installation, maintenance, disposal of substances
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Record and investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes
Primary HSE Trainer, including FA/CPR/AED and NFPA 70E
New Hire focus prep, train, upload, maintain database
Actively participate on the Plant Safety Steering Committee
Assist with directing weekly facility Safety Walks
Qualifications:
Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, Preferred
Capacity to learn and understand the production processes
Capable of functioning effectively in a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent presentation skills.
Leadership skills
Attention to detail
MS Office, SAP, ProSafety, and CAD experience preferred
