Youll support the maintenance team, initiate & complete capital projects, and assist with plant troubleshooting activities having a focus on mechanical issues. Youll partner with the electrical engineer and chemical engineers onsite as well as the Director of Corporate Engineering.

What youll be doing:

Reporting to the site Engineering Manager, youll become the on-site expert regarding plant equipment (piping, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, etc) as well as mechanical engineering codes & standards (ASME, ANSI, etc). Your workweek will be varied and largely self-directed including work in these areas:

  • Operational and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Assisting the Maintenance Department in setting equipment specifications, solving repetitive maintenance problems, monitoring equipment performance, and coordinating repairs of critical equipment.
  • Identifying and prioritizing capital projects; Completing Small Capital Projects (10k-500k) and supervising contractors. Supporting large project as a site liaison to Corporate Engineering
  • Support site Safety and Environmental compliance and initiatives working within the PSM MOC Framework, and consulting with the Environmental Manager on Capital Expense Requests (CERs).
  • Sustaining the 5S standard in the engineering department
  • Assisting customers as required.

We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in a manufacturing plant that includes liquid chemical systems (pumps, tanks). This may be a great opportunity for a self-starter and problem solver to diversify their resume in Maintenance Engineering or Capital Project Engineering/ Management.

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; P.E., EIT, or PMP certification a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial or chemical plant environment; process safety management (MOC, PSSR, PHA) experience is preferred
  • Has worked with mechanical codes and standards (i.e. API 653 Tank Inspection, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code, API 650 Welding, ASME B31.3 Process Piping)
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA indefinitely without sponsorship. (Sorry no F1, H1B, or other temporary work authorization)
