Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Daily outbound calls to solicit new business with new or existing customers
  • Receive telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers.
  • Providing timely quotes, checking inventory, reviewing pricing with management for approval and entering sales orders
  • Understands how to compute pricing for all types of processing and value-added services available.
  • Develop and maintains rapport with customers and work to give them the best possible service.
  • Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services
  • Staying informed about competing products and services
  • Retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of orders, and make changes on customer orders.
  • Follow up with clients and relay delivery times by working with operations and the shipping department.
  • Co-ordinate and liaison with other departments to achieve a smooth transition from order to on-time delivery
  • Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
  • Prepares paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) to be given to accounting department for credit or debit to be issued.
  • Take a pro-active approach in calling customers to solicit new business opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in sales/marketing or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Professional demeanor and selling style
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Exceptional verbal communication and listening skills
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Background in construction sales would be considered an asset
