Quality/Test Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct and coordinate testing and quality activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.

Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish quality and testing standards and specifications.

Read and review engineering drawings, schematics (single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, construction drawings), network diagrams, SCADA documentation, etc.

Interface with field service representatives to approve all installations.

Follow industry and customer standards relative to ampacity, grounding, cable sizing, etc.; prepare and submit Method of Procedures.

Work associated with the addition or removal of communications power equipment (rectifiers, batteries, UPS systems, etc.); running and terminating power and ground cable; alarm wiring and connections, cable racking infrastructure and mounting bays.

Know and be able to use Hand tools, test equipment, and power tools

Maintain a high level of integrity and discipline with a strong work ethic.


Minimum Requirements:

Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronic

2+ years demonstrated, related experience required

Electrical/Power Systems Testing experience required

Electrical/Power Systems Quality Control required

Experience in the construction and commissioning of electric power projects.

Possess an understanding of Electrical Engineering best practices through product life cycles, build processes, and process engineering

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time

Professional interest in energy technologies and battery storage

Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Preferred Requirements:

5+ years professional experience preferred

Telecom, Public Safety, Renewables & Environmental experience

Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001

Knowledge and experience with Power Systems

Technology experience in AC and DC power, solar, wind, fuel, gas, storage

Familiarity with codes and standards to include the NEC
