Maintenance Supervisor Afternoon Shift
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the operations of the Maintenance Department, including mechanical, electrical, maintenance and janitorial activities during the afternoon shift.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager the scheduling of work assignments, facility and equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs.
Analyze and trouble-shoot maintenance problems.
Actively participate in the clean-up as required.
Ensure that employees work in a safe manner and that all workers work safely.
Address all safety concerns either raised by workers or from safety audits. Advise workers and management of any potential or actual hazard.
Complete Accident Investigations and ensure corrective measures are taken.
Participate in all work refusals that occur during his/her shift.
Participate in the investigation of all accidents.
In conjunction with the HR Department, ensure that workers are properly trained to perform their jobs safely.
Assume control of the investigations during fire alarm and other emergency situations.
Provide leadership to the department, ensure required employee training and performance appraisals are received.
Qualifications:
Experienced in all aspects of industrial maintenance with an emphasis on hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and janitorial maintenance. 3 to 5 years prior supervisory experience in maintenance or engineering preferred. Preference will be given to those applicants with a mechanical engineering degree or diploma, industrial trade certificate or equivalent. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
