Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our manufacturing operation located in Hyattsville, MD.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (USGAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance, General Ledger (GL) management, and implementation experience.
While experience in the Food & Beverage industry is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger accounts for the manufacturing operation.
Ensure compliance with USGAAP and SOX requirements, maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and improve accounting processes and procedures.
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Monitor inventory and cost of goods sold, ensuring accuracy and proper valuation.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3 - 5 years of direct and recent experience in manufacturing accounting.
Strong knowledge of USGAAP and SOX compliance.
Experience in General Ledger management and financial statement preparation.
Lead process improvement initiatives and implement best practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Food & Beverage industry experience is a plus, but not required.
