Our client, a financial services company, is seeking an Senior Backend Engineer

Location: New York, NY/ Hybrid
Position Type: IT Full Time

The Role:

Responsible for the development and execution of the company's technical vision and strategy. This individual will contribute as an individual contributor, and work closely with other departments such as product, design, and operations to ensure that the company's technology is aligned with its overall business objectives. They will be hands-on, actively contributing to the codebase, and be able to balance hands-on coding with leading and managing a team.

Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's technical vision and strategy
Collaborate with other departments to ensure technology is aligned with business objectives
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements
Provide technical guidance and leadership to the company's management team
Ensure that the company's technology is secure and complies with industry standards
Actively contribute to the codebase, with a strong focus on AWS, TypeScript, React, Swift, and PostgreSQL.
Qualifications:
5+ Years Professional expertise doing backend development in Node/Typescript or experience with Java, C++, or python and the desire to learn Node/Typescript
2+ years experience working with AWS cloud technologies
Experience architecting distributed, large scale, fault tolerant systems.
Experience owning the planning, execution, and delivery of multi-engineer projects in a fast pace, agile environment
Experience mentoring engineers
A deep understanding of the value of automated testing when developing products
Great communication skills.
1+ years experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
Ability to gather requirements and own features through their development lifecycle into production
Experience leading projects and working with product, and other engineer teams
Proven track record of delivering high quality products
