Client in Mississippi seeks a project engineer for their 200+ person site

DUTIES: This person will be part of 4 person team doing projects from$100k to $6mm on their own and will work on a $300mm as part of a team. Will work on Unit and compressor replacement

This is a support position to the Maintenance / Engineering Departments of this company

The Project Engineer provides technical and engineering support as needed for the development, design, and implementation of miscellaneous projects as directed by the Maintenance &

Responsibilities Include the Following:

Develop completed project design specifications from basic conceptual ideas with limited direction

Organize, prepare and conduct project review and status presentations with key personnel to further develop and review project details

Review project details and equipment with Maintenance personnel (supervision, engineering, technicians) to ensure maintenance interests are addressed.

Prepare preliminary project estimates and cost justifications and completing Project Approval Forms (PAFs) and other documentation as necessary for management approval of projects

Prepare detailed project estimates and cost justifications and developing Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) and other documentation as necessary for management approval of projects Prepare and implement project schedules as needed for efficient completion of tasks utilizing all applicable workgroups and resources

Monitor progress of all project phases to verify accuracy of schedule and budget estimates

Secure coordinating and / or supervising contract consulting, engineering, design and vendor services for supplemental design assistance as needed to accomplish project goals

Specify and procure parts and equipment as needed and verify compatibility with service conditions and applicable design codes

Document all phases of project design, construction and installation to verify compliance with their specifications, all applicable design and construction codes, recommended practices, etc.

Initiate, participate in, and ensure the completion of the Management of Change Procedure (including PreStartup Safety Reviews) for Project Engineering related activities

Provide project follow-up upon completion of installation including equipment file development / documentation for new and / or affected equipment, recommended preventive maintenance of equipment, acquisition of spare parts, operating procedure development, startup assistance and lessons learned documentation x Assist Maintenance / Engineering Department in thoroughly documenting general maintenance shutdowns, projects and lessons learned

Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of Engineering and Construction specifications for refinery equipment

Assist in the development of engineering project proposals and preparing project cost estimates for annual and quarterly budget reviews

Work with Maintenance / Engineering staff to continually develop and improve project and maintenance engineering techniques, policies and procedures

Participate in all aspects of miscellaneous project and maintenance engineering as necessary to meet the needs of Maintenance / Engineering department

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: BS Mechanical or Civil Engineer would take a Chemical Engineer as well 3-10 years of experience. They are pretty open to what industry theyve come from but from sone type of process industry ie: Chemical, Refining, Steel, Paper ect. The key will be someone who can show a number of completed capital projects in a manufacturing setting. A variety of complete projects such as process related, maintenance and facility is desired.

Position Qualifications: This requires a BS degree (preferably in civil or mechanical engineering). Two to three years of experience in project management in a petrochemical environment is recommended. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong leadership, communication, and organization skills. Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project is recommended. Must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
