Our client is a leading industry association representing a diverse range of employers throughout NSW ranging from small businesses to listed companies.A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join the team.The role:
This role will see you provide advice and educate members of the association across a broad range of employment-related legal issues including but not limited to; employee conduct matters, investigations, terminations and disciplinary issues, and award/ enterprise agreement interpretation and compliance.
You will also have the opportunity to represent and advocate on behalf of members and non-members of the industry in the Fair Work Commission and other industrial/employment-related tribunals or regulatory bodies such as the Fair Work Ombudsman.
Key responsibilities: Act as the primary contact point for external stakeholders and escalate complex queries To manage the key day-to-day Legal and Industrial Affairs operations Assist in the coordination and delivery of Seminars & Training program Assist in the development and maintenance of member legal and IR resources, including template contracts, factsheets, Behind the Bar updates and other member communications Monitor and identify emerging industry issues and developments of a legal or IR nature and act appropriately to equip the business to members in relation to these Provide input and assistance to the Director, on internal legal matters and industry policy issues Undertake research, drafting and advocacy when required Supervision and mentoring of junior members of the team Candidate: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 + years PAE of employment or IR law experience gained within a reputable law firm or an in-house environment. You will have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of workplace relation matters, including awards, termination of employment, discrimination, WHS, enterprise bargaining, performance management and workplace investigations.
Experience in advising Associations or in the hospitality, events, tourism or accommodation industries will be highly regarded.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years PAE of employment or IR law experience gained within a reputable law firm or an in-house environment. You will have a sound understanding and knowledge of workplace relation matters with the confidence to undertake research, drafting and advocacy.
