Accounting Manager

Job description:

Support Senior Controller in the supervision of the Accounting department and administrative staff.Ensuring job costing is accurate by managing the work of the cost analyst and communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing completed job margins with production management. This will include monthly valuation of work in process inventory.Maintain, evaluate, and update standards for productivity by work center, waste goals and standard labor.Coordinate all audits, Bank, Independent Accountants, Federal, State and Local taxing authorities including Sales Tax, etc.Preparation of interim forecasts including cash flow, annual budget, capital expenditures and monitoring of budget to actuals.All month-end financial reporting (internal and external) including analyzing all variances and suggesting corrective actions where needed.Preparation of Weekly Borrowing Base Certificate based on banking requirements.Maintains accounting and internal controls by defining accounting policies and procedures.Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Representing finance to employees, management, owners, banks, suppliers, customers, auditors, etc.
• Strong Financial Modeling skills
• Budgets, Forecasts, Cash Flow Projections
• Manage and motivate staff
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Proficient PC skills, Excel, ERP systems

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors Degree - Accounting / Finance
• At least 5 years similar work experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office, and ERP systems
