Manager DevOps & Test Automation, Hands-On, AWS, GitHub, Remote/Dallas

You will champion and drive DevOps and Test Automation efforts while guiding best practices for CI/CD and automated testing.In addition, foster a product-release mindset within the company.This involves leading the DevOps steering committee, building/maintaining automated product pipelines (and equipping others to do so), designing/building monitoring and feedback systems, and driving test automation improvements.

What will I be doing?

• As a hands-on manager, spend some time performing detailed work in addition to management responsibilities
• Manage and lead a team of 6, 3 in DevOps and 3 in Test Automation
• Mentor junior engineers and balance workload to achieve project milestones
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple products
• Collaborate with engineering, authoring, and other teams for automation best practices
• Extend test automation and build infrastructure functionality as needs evolve
• Participate in DevOps/Test Automation code reviews and understand good practices, code flow, and functionality
• Provide tool and process support to development teams
• Support and deploy releases to production environments
• Handle difficult issues, identify and mitigate risks
• Brainstorm new products, updates, and solutions to improve products, performance, and processes continuously
• Remain up-to-date on industry trends, share knowledge among teams, and abide by industry best practices for configuration management and automation

Location:Remote, Headquarters in Dallas, TX

Salary:160k 175k, 401k Match + Benefits

Qualifications:

What skills/experience do I need?

• 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership role
• Prioritize DevOps experience over Test Automation; must be experienced in both
• Strong knowledge and experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3/CloudFront, CDK, etc.)
• Strong GitHub experience and GitHub actions/workflows
• Prefer Linux experience, then Windows, then Mac. At least two platforms preferred
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Some programming experience in Java/C++/Python or similar for code reviews
• Proactive communication skills

What will make my rsum stand out?

• Selenium would be helpful, but open to a variety of tools
• Understanding of IP networking, PKI, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling
